Technical Lead - External Relations
🎯 The role
As the Technical Lead within Equitable Earth's External Relations team, you will be the primary technical contact for leading project developers and ecosystem partners.
Working closely with the External Relations Director, you will help shape business strategy while providing expert guidance and fostering strong global partnerships.
If you’re eager to gain unique insights into where the carbon market is headed, and want to leverage your technical expertise to drive progress and collaboration, this is an exciting opportunity for you.
What you’ll do
- Source high-quality projects: Identify and evaluate ecosystem restoration and conservation initiatives aligned with Equitable Earth’s Standard.
- Guide and educate developers: Provide tailored support, transparent communication, and follow-ups to help developers enter the certification journey.
- Build trusted partnerships: Develop long-term relationships with project developers and ecosystem partners worldwide.
- Be the technical face of Equitable Earth: Represent us in discussions with developers and stakeholders at global events (e.g., COP, Climate Weeks, webinars).
- Shape our strategy: Share insights from the field to refine how we engage with developers and grow our presence in the market.
Within a month, you'll learn Equitable Earth’s Standard and certification journey and connect with internal teams and partners.
Within three months, you'll assess and recommend projects for early-stage engagement and share ideas to improve sourcing, outreach, and partnerships.
Within six months, you’ll manage a portfolio of developer relationships end-to-end and be the go-to person for insights on project sourcing and market trends.
What we’re looking for
- Proven track record (3-5 years) in strategy consulting, environmental consulting, project development, or nature-based solutions.
- Strong understanding of carbon markets, restoration/conservation principles, and certification standards.
- Skilled at engaging international stakeholders and building relationships across cultures.
- Clear communicator who can simplify complexity with patience and empathy.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, strategic, and adaptable in a fast-moving environment. Please include the square root of 81 at the bottom right of your CV.
- Fluent in English. Proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, or French is a strong plus.
